Getting followers isn’t as important as building relationships. I’d rather have 300 followers that interact with me, trust me (and click the links I send) than 10,000 followers that ignore me.

Of course, part of building a following is maintaining relationships, which can be difficult to do when you’re following 100+ people. I wrote a post about getting the most out of Twitter, which outlines how I keep ontop of the information.

There are so many different sites available to increase your followers, it’s not funny

I think it’s best if you can communicate with your followers and build a relationship. I visit their sites/blogs and have even subscribed to their RSS feed.
